General Information The Voice and Swallowing Center at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences is dedicated to the evaluation, treatment, and management of voice and swallowing disorders. A voice or swallowing disorder can greatly limit your ability to eat, drink or communicate comfortably. Our goal is to provide our patients with the best treatment options available to preserve the highest level of voice and swallowing function. As a division of the Department of Otolaryngology - Head and Neck Surgery, the center brings together a wealth of resources and expertise. The Voice and Swallowing Center consists of a team of fellowship trained doctors, speech pathologists, nurses, state-of-the-art diagnostic and treatment technology and the resources of the UAMS Medical Center to offer comprehensive and complete care of the voice and swallowing systems. In addition to providing the highest level patient care, the Center is committed to building public awareness of voice and swallowing disorders through teaching and education. Clinical and basic science research is another vital component of the Center. The specialists at the UAMS Voice and Swallowing Center treat a broad range of conditions affecting the larynx.
