Complete diagnosis and treatment for allergic ear, nose and throat disorders is available at the UAMS ENT Clinic. This includes thorough history and physical examination of the ears, nose and throat, head and neck (including endoscopic upper airway examination for complex cases), and skin testing and blood serum testing for specific allergen detection. Medication management is offered for seasonal and year round, indoor and outdoor allergies. Allergy immunotherapies (allergy "shots") are provided in the clinic for those individuals requiring more complex treatment. For patient convenience, antigen extract (treatment vials) can be prepared and mailed to one's primary care physician to administer. Food allergy evaluation is also performed using history and diet diary techniques. Dietary elimination and oral food challenge testing is available for certain food allergy patients. Food avoidance and substitution recommendations are available for patients with common food group allergies.
